As the days get shorter and darker, a visit to a Christmas market can be just the ticket to lift your mood and ease you into the festive spirit.
Whether you are interested in traditional Swedish craft, sampling the delights of local produce or just want to soak up some Christmas atmosphere, this is the perfect place to spend an afternoon or evening. Your nearest Christmas market (or julmarknad, as it’s known in Swedish) usually offers activities for all the family and there’s always lots of warm glögg (a spiced, usually alcoholic drink, served warm) available to help keep out the cold.
We’ve put together a list of the best Swedish Christmas markets in 2019 with links to further information to help you plan a visit.
